Job description

Junior AI Platform Engineer

Are you passionate about AI and excited about shaping the next generation of AI platforms? We’re looking for a curious and AI-native Junior AI Platform Engineer who enjoys experimenting with new technologies, learns quickly, and wants to grow in a modern cloud environment.

You don’t need years of platform engineering experience. What matters most is your mindset: a genuine interest in AI, a structured way of thinking, and the motivation to understand how AI works beyond simply using it. If you love building, exploring, and learning, we’d love to hear from you.

Your responsibilities

  • Build and improve AI platform capabilities together with experienced engineers.

  • Explore and evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, and best practices.

  • Develop and experiment with AI agents, agentic workflows, MCP integrations, AI skills, and modern AI tooling.

  • Support the development of internal AI platforms and developer experiences.

  • Contribute to AI-enabled automation and engineering solutions.

  • Work with AWS-based ecosystem around Bedrock and cloud-native technologies.

  • Collaborate with software engineers, platform engineers, and AI specialists to deliver practical AI solutions.

  • Continuously learn, share knowledge, and help shape how AI is adopted across engineering.

What you move

  • Help bring innovative AI capabilities into production.

  • Turn new AI concepts into practical prototypes and scalable solutions.

  • Influence how engineers leverage AI through tooling, automation, and platform improvements.

  • Drive experimentation while maintaining a structured and thoughtful engineering approach.

  • Contribute to an engineering culture that embraces curiosity, continuous learning, and responsible AI adoption.

  • Enable our platform consumers with more than 4000+ engineers to leverage the platform experience with AI

Job requirements

  • Degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

  • Based in the Netherlands and eligible to work there (we do not relocate for this role)

  • Strong passion for AI and modern software engineering.

  • AWS experience is a must.

  • Proven track record of building AI-related projects or contributing to AI initiatives (e.g. university projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, research, personal projects, or internships), with the ability to explain architectural decisions and engineering trade-offs.

  • Hands-on experience with AI projects, open-source contributions, hackathons, research, or personal projects that demonstrate your interest in AI.

  • Familiarity with concepts such as LLMs, AI agents, agentic coding, Model Context Protocol (MCP), context engineering, AI tooling, or skill development.

  • Programming experience in at least one modern language, Python preferred (e.g. Python, TypeScript, Go, or Java).

  • Strong curiosity and willingness to continuously learn new technologies.

  • Open-minded, proactive, and excited about experimenting with new ideas.

  • Able to distinguish between simply using AI tools and understanding how to build reliable, maintainable AI-powered solutions.

  • Structured problem-solving skills and an engineering mindset focused on quality, scalability, and continuous improvement.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
