DevOps Engineer Oracle Session Border Controller
As a DevOps Engineer, you are responsible for the DevOps lifecycle of Oracle Session Border Controllers (SBCs) — both hardware-based and virtualized. You will focus on automation, scalability, and performance for real-time communication services. Our SBCs handle communication services, including Microsoft Teams, Webex, and emergency call handling. You are jointly responsible for deploying product updates, identifying production issues, and implementing integrations that meet our customers needs. We employ the latest technologies and are always seeking opportunities to enhance our products. In doing so, we contribute to a future-proof design across multiple applications
What impact will you have?
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to VoIP, SIP signaling, and media handling (including 24/7 duties)
Monitor and optimize SBC performance
Deploy updates and fixes, and provide Level 3 technical support
Collaborating in an international and cross-functional team
Automate deployment processes
Create, run and maintain automated tests
Deploying and configure Session Border Controllers (SBC) in a Kubernetes-based cloud environment
Job requirements
Must-haves:
Higher education in computer science or equivalent working experience as DevOps for Oracle SBC
Several years of experience with Oracle SBC
Hands-on experience with SIP Know-How and Transport Layer (SRTP, RTP, TLS)
SBC experience for deployment and operation office hours and non-office hours (24/7)
Collaborative team spirit: Willing to mentor and help other team members
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Good written and spoken English (C1)
Nice-to-haves:
Strong experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration
Proficiency in containerisation technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
Familiarity with automation tools (Helm, Terraform, Ansible) and CI/CD practices
Good expertise in Java 17+ and Python, as well as good knowledge in highly scalable software architecture and design
Experience in leading dev and ops tasks
Problem-solving attitude
Experience in an agile environment and proactive collaboration with international teams
Knowledge of the German language

Contract terms

The salary ranges mentioned in our Job Descriptions are base annual gross salaries including the 8% holiday allowance
Since this role consists of varying seniorities, the salary range is between 60k to 75k euros gross per year, including the 8% holiday allowance
