Cloud Platform Engineer (Kubernetes)
You are a Kubernetes specialist, fascinated by cloud computing and paving the way for others at scale. With this mindset, you are an ideal fit for us!
What impact will you have?
- You work in an international and geographically distributed team with cultural diversity and interact with other DevOps engineers and product owners. You play a vital role in our agile DevOps team. With your passion for Kubernetes, you take Swisscom's internal cloud platform to the next level. In an agile environment, you are responsible for tenant management and the onboarding of new projects on our TKGI-based Kubernetes platform.
- In this role you will act as the interface between the users of our internal Kubernetes cloud and the platform team responsible for the underlying infrastructure. You will focus on preparing the environments for cluster deployments, deploying clusters according to existing plans and providing on-boarding support to the users.
- You will also maintain and further develop scripts and tools to manage the Kubernetes clusters. Besides your focus on Kubernetes, you will also have the opportunity to work with additional technologies and platforms like Cloud Foundry, VMware (vRA), and AWS thanks to our hybrid cloud setup.
- As a platform engineer, you adhere to solid engineering practices to achieve your goals. You are eager to learn and willing to share your knowledge and experiences with others so that we can constantly improve together. With your proven expertise in the field of Kubernetes, you complement our team optimally.
Job requirements
In your daily work, you will get in touch with the following tools and technologies. The more you are already familiar with the better. Everything else you will learn on the job:
- Tanzu Kubernetes
- JAVA, Python, Javascript/Typescript (nodejs)
- Cloud Foundry
- VMware (vRA)
- AWS
Ideally we would like you to have more than 2 years experience in working with Kubernetes and hold one or more of these specific certifications:
- Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD)
- Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA)
We are also looking for someone who:
- Has excellent problem-solving skills to develop quick and sound solutions that resolve complex issues
- Is Team-oriented, very adaptable, a flair for continuous improvement
- Has Very good English, German is a plus
